We made it!

We departed New York at 12:45 and began the 15 hour flight to Nairobi!  Whew!  It was a fantastic flight - well, as fantastic as 15 hours on a plane can be!  (BTW- We highly recommend Kenya Airways if you are looking to come to Africa at any point.  They only began long international flights 5 years ago and the planes are new and amazing!!  It was the best international flight we've taken!)
We landed in Nairobi, where we had an hour layover before an hour flight on to Entebbe, Uganda.  In Nairobi, we were all giddy just to be on African soil!  We were greeted at the Entebbe airport by 2 of our most precious friends here in America, Livingston and Farouk and we even met a new friend, Anna!  It was so good to see their faces and hug their necks!  We are so looking forward to more time with them over the next few days.
We left the airport and Livingston took us to a shopping area where we bought a phone to use in Uganda, a Ugandan hotspot for internet, bottled water, and exchanged money.  The kids were amazed at how money is exchanged and also enjoyed walking around the shopping center.
Our lodging plans changed just a bit, but we are settled in at a fantastic guesthouse here in Kampala and the staff prepared us a delicious meal for dinner.  Sam said "This is one of the best meals I've ever eaten!"  We had fresh pineapple for dessert, which never disappoints here!!
We are currently sitting on the couch here at the guesthouse and can hear what sounds like a revival right outside our gates.  There is worship music and preaching that is super loud, but good!
Even though it is only 8 PM here now, we are all about to head to bed, because we haven't slept much at all in 48 hours.  Tomorrow, we plan on hanging close to the guesthouse and walking to our favorite pizza place for lunch! We are looking forward to a day to regroup before our busier days start!
My heart is full tonight after seeing friends and being reminded already about why we so love this country.  We are looking forward to what the next 13 days will hold!
