Time Square...and waiting

Our first flight was great. None of our kids remember flying before, so experiencing 4 kids on their “first” flight was fun. They did great! Sam was by far the most excited and Martin the most nervous, but all enjoyed it over all! We got to NY around 9 last night. By the time we got bags and got out of the airport it was around 10:30. So we got an Uber (first time for that) and headed to Time Square. Kasey and I know we are not big city people and although NY is incredible with so much to see, we neither have ever expressed an interest in coming to NY. BUT, when you have a 15 hour layover, why not check out Time Square?

Here’s my impression- bright as the sun in the middle of the night. It was a melting pot-there were more varieties of people than any one place I have ever been. It truly is the town that never sleeps. And dang, I’m a deep dish kind of guy, but the NY style thin crust pizza was legit...and it was Joe’s, which was in Spider-Man 2 (the Toby Maguire iteration)

We spent a little over an hour there...see previous comment about not being big city people. We then came back to the airport and have tried to sleep as much as we could.

We are sleepy-eyed but ready to get on our flight in a couple of hours and get to Uganda 🇺🇬!!
